1. Your training partner is the most important piece of training equipment in your Dojo.
KEEP THEM SAFE.

2. Don’t worry about winning or losing.
THERE IS NO WINNING OR LOSING IT’S A SPARR.

3. This is where you learn how to develop your new techniques.
BE CREATIVE! TRY NEW MOVES AND COMBINATIONS.

4. Don’t be afraid to spar students that are more advanced / experienced than you.
If your club is well run your Instructor should have informed all advanced students to help and advice all under belts with their sparring techniques when they pair off.

5. Have fun.
This is the most important thing to keep in mind when you’re sparring after all, sparring should be a fun way for you to learn how to use the combinations you learned in class to help elevate your technique and fight game.

6. Always show respect.
At the end of the day, it’s important to always respect your sparring partner and not treat him or her as a human punching bag – because you’re all there for the same reason: to learn, grow, and become a better martial artist. So, train hard, and make every sparring session count.

Respect to all
